Feeling stuck? Or like you just want to relax on the couch and order food? Believe it or not, a little exercise can go a long way in changing our thoughts and feelings in positive ways. Here are some suggestions for when you need a little joy in your day.
nature walk
Some fresh air, greenery, and nature can go a long way in adjusting your attitude and shifting your inner focus to your outer focus. It’s easy to get caught up in the stress of life and work; however, by changing your surroundings and challenging yourself on rough terrain, you can open up, divert your attention, and put a smile on your face. Taking a walk outside with family, friends or pets is another way to make your experience more enjoyable!
walk with purpose
Even if exercise isn’t your favorite activity, you can appreciate beautiful destinations by taking a walk. Maybe you can collect some rocks or natural items to make some arts and crafts. Also consider walking to the store instead of driving, and you’ll get great exercise, fresh air, and a new day. Sometimes a step away from the current task at hand is just what we need to provide fresh perspective and mental clarity.
get some core flooring
Working out doesn’t have to involve equipment or a lot of space. Try doing a few planks on the floor, doing some light stretches, or even doing yoga to ease your tense thoughts.
game time
Getting a good “workout” with nearby kids or family can be quite challenging. Instead, consider playing games like hide-and-seek, hide-and-seek, or even hopscotch with your family to get your heart rate up and your muscles energized. You’ll be creating new memories, burning calories and boosting your mood all at the same time.
