Proper footwear is essential to support a child’s development. We believe an ideal warm weather shoe for kids offers arch support, a stable heel cup, shock absorption and breathability. We can thoroughly assess each child’s alignment and gait pattern when recommending appropriate footwear for pediatric PT.For more specific and tailored guidance, please feel free to contact us directly!
According to APMA, suitable footwear Should pass 1, 2, 3 tests, including:
1. Stiff Rigid Heel Cup – Press down on both sides of the heel counter. Shoes should not collapse.
2. Check the flexibility of the toes – push the sole up on the toe line. Shoes should not bend a child’s toes.
3. Assess midfoot structure – try twisting the shoe on the midfoot line. The shoe should not be twisted in the middle.
