In an effort to provide innovative and cost-effective medications, Dr Reddy’s Laboratories Limited (Dr Reddy’s) has selected Amazon Web Services (AWS) as their preferred cloud provider. The company has fully transitioned their SAP platform to AWS in order to centralize operations on the leading global cloud platform. This move will facilitate faster development of healthcare solutions while expanding their digital presence in order to serve over 1.5 billion patients worldwide by 2030. It will also enable healthcare providers to better monitor patient progress throughout treatment processes.As part of continuous efforts since 2019, Dr.Reddys has migrated digital applications to AWS, successfully automating their IT infrastructure and making health services more accessible to customers. Vaishali Kasture, Director of AWS India, commented on the partnership with Dr. Reddy’s, stating that AWS’ experience in supporting healthcare customers globally, combined with their advanced cloud technology and infrastructure, will allow Dr. Reddy’s to enhance the experience for both customers and patients while also reducing the environmental impact of IT operations.
South Asia Amazon Web Services India Pvt also expressed their confidence in the collaboration, believing that their shared customer-first culture will pave the way for innovation in healthcare.
In line with increasing demand for cloud services from Indian customers, AWS recently announced a significant investment of 1,056 billion rupees ($12.7 billion) in cloud infrastructure in India by 2030. This investment is projected to contribute 1,947 billion rupees ($23.3 billion) to India’s gross domestic product (GDP) by 2030.
