Wait until before cutting the fruit to wash the fruit. This will extend its shelf life in the refrigerator.
Fruit salad can be made up to 6 hours in advance. Store it in the refrigerator and wait until just before serving to add the bananas. If you plan to add other fruits that will brown, such as apples, wait until just before serving as well. Stir again before serving. If you can avoid it, I don’t recommend making fruit salad a day ahead or refrigerating it overnight as the fruit will get a little mushy.
